4/4/17 Part 2 - Actually, I decided to work on the "Scribbles" page instead of doing my homework. Since I got an overwhelming response in favor of keeping it (nearly 100%), I decided to change how it was laid out. I didn't like how it looked, so I tried something new. I probably still have work to do, but let me know what you think of the direction I'm heading. You can use that little poll thing to the side (your left side) to give me your thoughts. But for real this time, I'll probably have a real update this weekend.
4/4/17 - Sorry about the lack of update last weekend. I got caught up in other things like staying up into the wee hours of the morning and obsessively reading a webcomic. I will mostly likely have a real update on things this weekend. Until then.
3/29/17 - Three months later and still nothing. Well, as for news of my life, I entered a writing contest at Utah State University. The piece I submitted did not place, but four of my art submissions did place. I've updated the header picture for this page to one of the art submissions that did not place. I'll let all of you know where you can find them once they get published. In the meantime, consider perusing the website a little bit. I'll have another update on things this weekend.
12/21/16 - So, I should apologize for leaving the website so spOOOOOky for so long. Uh, so that's fixed now; I've made it much easier for myself to both spOOKify my website and also decorate it in other ways, so maybe I'll start doing of those things. It's winter break, so I suppose I shall have to try to write something for your enjoyment. Perhaps finishing some of my old half-finished stories. Or continue the An Unwelcome Guest story. Something, at least.
10/5/16 - In the process of spOOKIFYing the website, Weebly decided to reset all of my pictures. So I'll get around to fixing that sometime. Sorry! I'm a little busy preparing for getting my wisdom teeth taken out this Friday. I might have some time over the weekend to fiddle around with the website, but I cannot make any guarantees, as I'll be under the influence of several kinds of drugs. Also, my apologies for taking longer than normal to spOOKify the website. It's been a busy week.
9/19/2016 - Ahoy me mateys, it be Internarrtional Speak Like a Pirate Day! Aye, it be that time of year when we all act like lubberly fools and talk in the tongue of pirates. I thought I might take this time to remind ye of me ol' poem, "The Parrot." 'Tis a poem worthy of being reminded of, indeed. Have a fun, pirate-filled day, ya-harr!
9/10/2016 - School has started, daggun-it. I'm already swamped in homework, and it's only the end of the second week. The forecast predicts it will only get worse as the semester progresses. Thankfully, I'm made of pretty tough stuff. I'm sure that I can survive it.
However, I will most likely not have any time to really do anything other than school and work, and a few other assorted activities to keep my sanity in check. There is some good news, though: my poetry collection is coming out of the editing phase. There's just a few more poems to go over, quality control, as I call it, and organizing the whole thing. Then begins the process of trying to publish it. I am quite pleased with how it is looking and have great hopes for it.
Anyways, if I do end up writing something, poem or otherwise, you can bet those britches that I'll put it on here for your reading pleasure. Toodles!
8/22/2016 - You are probably wondering where I've been lately. Well, you know there's those days that everything just seems to go wrong, and you feel awful and it just gets worse all day long? I had two weeks of that. So that's where I've been lately.
Additionally, I'm currently working fairly heavily on editing my poetry collection. I will attempt to do something this week, but school does start next week, so I might be spending all of this week getting ready for that. We'll how this all goes.
My school year is looking fairly busy, but I'm not sure how busy yet. A few weeks into September and I should know exactly how much free time I'll have, and that will determine how much writing I can do.
8/3/2016 - While I still struggle away at my short story attempt, enjoy this nice poem that I wrote about a midnight trip up a canyon: "Moonlit Hills." I'm hoping to have something that's not just a poem up next week, but we'll just have to see how this whole writing thing goes.
Also, a new, short poll over there on the right. Please go take it. It'll help me very much if you do.
7/23/2016 - You'll have to excuse my absence. I was trying very hard to write a short story, but it's been a long time since I've written one, much less a dialogue-heavy one, so I've run into quite a few bumps and things along the way.
7/1/2016 - We have a new poem up called "Dead Week." It's about a wonderful thing called Dead Week, which is the week before finals, where you inevitably spend all day every day studying. I'm not joking. You will spend all day every day studying for finals. I hope you enjoy the poem!
Also, as a side note, I want to post a new poll next week, do if you wouldn't mind doing me a favor and filling out the current poll riiiiight over there to the left and down a little, if you haven't already. Thank you!
6/23/2016 - Hey all you wonderful people. I'm sorry about not posting anything last week. It was a very bad week for me, and so I wasn't able to work on anything. This week has been better, so I have something to post. Unfortunately, it's not that short story that I've been wanting to write for a while now. Instead, we have the poem "Route 11." It's based on a true story of when I thought I had taken the wrong bus.
6/11/2016 - It's not quite a short story, but it's close enough! I present to you An Open Letter to the Owner of the Sink Under Which I Am Currently Living, a sort of sequel to the other work titled An Open Letter to the Spider Living Underneath My Bathroom Sink. I will get to the short story I've been promising for so long next week when I'm not so tired and busy.
Additionally, there is a new quick poll up over there to the side, if you wouldn't mind filling it out. If you don't know what the D&D Adventures page is, you can click on the link earlier in this sentence to find out!
6/4/2016 - Well, this week turned out to be much more eventful than I had thought it would be. I apologize for not getting around to finishing a short story this week, so another poem will have to do. I will try very hard to get a short story done next week, though. If not a short story, then perhaps another D&D Adventure.
Today's poem is Like a Rose, one that I wrote a few months ago. Enjoy!
Also, fixed a thing with the font size on the Poetry page being all weird and inconsistent.
5/27/2016 - This weekly update thing is hard. But I promised it'd happen, so here is another weekly update. Today, we have a poem by the name of "15 Minutes."
I'm thinking next week of going for a short story. I should be not-as-lazy next week, which means I'll do things, and hopefully, that short story will be one of them. If not, then I have a few more poems that I've written recently that I can add.
5/20/16 - The website has been cleaned up a little bit! You may also notice a few new things, like the Quick Poll over to the left, or perhaps the cleanup of the Scribbles pages, or perhaps the new link color, or perhaps the new and exciting D&D Adventures page (title pending)! I've been working on this all week, trying to get it nice and clean and ready for publishing. Buuuut it's not entirely there. There's mostly just one thing that I still need to fix, and that's the font size of things on the different Scribbles pages. They don't match each other, and it really bothers me. I'll fix it sometime, just not right now.
Let me know what you think, either through the Quick Poll, or through the Contact/Feedback page, or through Facebook, or through smoke signals, or owls, or voodoo magic.
5/9/16 - A new short story for you today, called "The Last Three Miles." I actually wrote it for an English class as a personal narrative. I think it's a good way to kick off the summer. Enjoy!
P.S. I will be doing mostly nothing this week, so it is likely I won't post later this week. Or I might post something at the end of this week. I haven't decided yet. Regardless, my next project is to clean up and fix the site, so next week will likely be less content. The site will look nice, though, which I am excited for. Weebly has updated its interface and added some new thingamabobs, and I am excited to use those and clean the website. But I most likely will not be posting any content next week. Just thought I should let you know.
***fixed an error with the background going all wiggity-wack all over the place***
4/27/16 - Just thought I should let you know really quickly that I plan on doing absolutely nothing for at least two weeks after school is out. I doubt I'll be able to make it that long, but that's my plan. However, I do have several works that I can publish right out of the gate, or periodically through those first two weeks. So even though I will be doing absolutely nothing, you can still expect an update or two or maybe three if I start feeling productive. Well, I have to go study now. Hope you have a fine day!
4/22/16 - So here's an update for you. The semester is almost over. Finals are the week after next, and then it's summer break. After the semester has finished, I will have the time to put some effort into this website, and that includes a lot of things that I've been promising to do. So I thought to get you hyped for the summer, I'd include a list of the things that I'm planning on doing. Since I literally have nothing else to do over the summer, I will eventually run out of excuses and other things to do, so I will have to do these things. So, here's that list of what to expect over the next five or so months.
-More An Unwelcome Guest. I have some actual roommate horror stories now, so lots of new ideas for it.
- Several new poems. I've been writing more poetry lately, and while some of it I can't share, I do have new poems I can share.
- A few blog posts, both in my reaL Nlog and in my PoL Blog.
- That wonderful D&D stuff I promised. I have about a dozen adventures that I've finished, and so I will be posting notes and pictures and things like that.
- A few short stories. I have a few ideas I've been wanting to write for a while now, and now I actually have time to write them!
- A satire piece. I started writing it about a year ago, and I'm really looking forward to finishing it.
- One or possibly more musical compositions. I have one that's in the works, and I might post some more. I'm not sure.
- Ads! I'm going to try to get some advertisements up so I can roll in a little bit of revenue. They won't be obtrusive, and there will only be a few of them, but they'll mean a little more income for me! I might even be able to switch over to my own domain, which is suuuper exciting!
- Major changes to the formatting. There are parts of this website that really need a face lift, and certain aspects of it that I have been wanting to change for quite some time now. Since this website has been around for quite some time now, there are parts that need updating, blurbs that need editing, diction that needs changing, syntax that needs replacing, parts that should be deleted, and just a whole bunch of other things. This will be a massive undertaking on my part, so it'll take some time so have the full effect take place. Don't worry - it'll still be the same old website, just sleeker and better looking!
So that's what you can look forward to in the summer! It's going to exciting, I hope! I'm going to try to go with weekly updates, or at least periodic updates instead of the sporadic ones that I've been doing for, like, forever. If you want to be notified on when new updates are posted, like my Facebook page! I'll be sure to post on there whenever something new comes out!
And hey, if you like what I do here, then please share this website with your friends!
