Yet again, an assignment for my Creative Writing class. This poem is written in a certain type of verse: 16 lines and it rhymes. There is a name for that, but, alack! I cannot remember. This poem was originally written for a certain friend of mine, but I realized it applies to all my amazing friends. So, know this, dear friend, that I love you.
Why I Love You, Dear Friend
Dear friend, you do not know
The love I feel for you.
Although this love I may not show,
I love you, I really do.
The Love I feel is like for loved ones.
You've influenced me untold amounts.
You might not know you influenced me tons,
But know that every kind word counts.
You're quick to a joke, a laugh, a smile.
You are able to brighten the room.
Your presence can easily beguile
And sweep contention out with a broom.
Know that you are a person dear,
And I hope I am too,
To my heart. I do hope you hear
I'm lucky to have a friend like you.
The love I feel for you.
Although this love I may not show,
I love you, I really do.
The Love I feel is like for loved ones.
You've influenced me untold amounts.
You might not know you influenced me tons,
But know that every kind word counts.
You're quick to a joke, a laugh, a smile.
You are able to brighten the room.
Your presence can easily beguile
And sweep contention out with a broom.
Know that you are a person dear,
And I hope I am too,
To my heart. I do hope you hear
I'm lucky to have a friend like you.
