The Little Pink Thing in the Corner
I didn't know who put it there, or where it come from, but I wanted it gone. As I heard another crash and a shatter from the room in which my meals are taken, I remembered the fateful night in which it appeared.
I had just decided to go rest when I heard a loud crash and an even louder whoosh as all my precious air-in-a-bottle just disappeared. If I had only known the trouble this little pink thing would cause, I would have gotten rid of it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I felt that it should have a chance to go to a better place.
I investigated the noise, and when I entered, I watched as the little creature, mostly pink, ran to the corner and huddled in it, whimpering. I reached over to touch it, to see if it was real; it screeched and jumped over me, something I always wished I could do. It landed on a shelf and knocked off all of my precious, precious glass vases. I almost fainted out of shock when the little pink thing brought down the entire shelf and scampered over to my dining room to attack my storeroom. It threw open the door and tore apart all my sacks and cans of food until it satisfied its hunger. It continued to lay in there until it fell asleep in a huddle upon the ripped sacks.
I was about to call the Enforcer Squad to take this beast away, but it was just so innocent. The Enforcer Squad would kill it or imprison it in their holding cell, a fate worse than death. However if I didn't report it, it could also cause me to be thrown in the holding cells! The little pink creature started to whimper in its sleep, so I picked it up and brought it over to my bed and laid it down. It instantly curled up and started to coo. I watched over it while I sat down in my chair in the corner until the sun appeared on the horizon.
The little pink thing awoke with a screech and started to bawl. I decided it was hungry, so I brought over some food it left out overnight. It rejected the offering at first, but after careful consideration, it are the food and was satisfied. I was pleased with myself that it was calm. It suddenly became agitated and attacked me!
"I wan my blankie!" it yelled. I thought the little pink thing couldn't talk and was so surprised, I didn't realize I was bringing him all the blankets I had. None of these "blankies" satisfied him. He threw them away and tore them up in a tantrum.
"Play wih me!" was the next scream the pink creature uttered. I was scared for my life; it has such sharp teeth. I decided to bring it into my livelihood room. The little pink thing decided to bring down the house, literally. All of the book shelves, the tables, the chairs, all town apart by that little pink thing. Even my prized chandelier was not safe from its reaching grasp. When it tried to exit the house thankfully through the door, I blocked it. If it were to get outside, the neighbors were to surely call the Enforcer Squad, and I'd be put away! I finally came to conclusion that the only way to protect myself was to tie it up. I reached around it with rope, and it bit me! The little pink thing then began to wail.
At last, I decided to send it off when it started to attack my plates and eating utensils. I called up my friend, an expert in foreign animals, and explained the problem to him. He quickly came over to the wreckage, fed the little pink thing, and explained to me this place named Earth, a refuge for those pink things. I would have let my friend take the little pink thing, but I had grown attached to it. I asked if I could hold onto Jack, the new name I came up with, for a few more days.
When my friend came to take Jack away a few days later, I begged him to let me see what this refuge called Earth was like and what would take care of Jack. After a short two-hour drive, he showed me, from a safe distance, the big pink things that would take care of my little pink thing. My friend explained that Earth had a stronger gravity field than our home planet, and as a result, the little pink thing was able to become twice as strong and it could jump twice as high than they could on their home planet.
I left Jack in the case of those big pink things, and I do check up on him from time to time. Those pink things sure do grow! He calls Uncle, even though I am in no way related to him. Jack's new family are nice people. and I do plan on meeting them one day. Jacks says they doubt my existence, so I need to pay them a visit.
I heard of a new adoption agency on my home planet where I can get a new little pink thing, or as the people in charge of them like to call them, humans, to care for. Maybe after I get a new one, I'll bring Jack over to show the new human to him. Then again, after the destruction Jack caused, I should just get a Saturn slug.

I originally wrote this in eight grade for a project called in media res, which means in the middle of things. I changed a few phrases here and there for a smoother read, but mostly kept it the same.
