I Saw a Glimpse of Spring
I saw a glimpse of Spring today
I felt it in the air
I skipped around without a care
for Spring is coming nigh
I saw the end or else the start
I'm still not quite sure now
Pristine days were taking a bow
Or daisies springing up
Long sacred nights are exiting
And bright-filled days are come
Playing in the white snow and some
Snow activities leave
The branches dare not scrape the sky
For leaves now grace their boughs
And Spring now bounces on its toes
And Winter now recedes
I felt the warm Spring wind blowing
Chasing out the Winter
The bitter days will not occur
For Spring is dancing here
Perhaps Winter is leaving here
And letting Springtime in
For Winter knows its time is fin
And now it goes to rest
An end a close a start anew
Whatever it may be
Its hard to look and not to see
That Spring is drawing nigh
I felt it in the air
I skipped around without a care
for Spring is coming nigh
I saw the end or else the start
I'm still not quite sure now
Pristine days were taking a bow
Or daisies springing up
Long sacred nights are exiting
And bright-filled days are come
Playing in the white snow and some
Snow activities leave
The branches dare not scrape the sky
For leaves now grace their boughs
And Spring now bounces on its toes
And Winter now recedes
I felt the warm Spring wind blowing
Chasing out the Winter
The bitter days will not occur
For Spring is dancing here
Perhaps Winter is leaving here
And letting Springtime in
For Winter knows its time is fin
And now it goes to rest
An end a close a start anew
Whatever it may be
Its hard to look and not to see
That Spring is drawing nigh
I was wondering around the school waiting for my ride when the first stanza popped into my head. I was watching the ice crystals form on the half-melted snow (you know the ones. They look as if they could be little homes for ice faeries, or something. It's not like my childhood was spent believing that every time I crushed one of them, a faerie went homeless) and I was pretty amazed at how beautiful they were. The idea of something starting and something ending then entered into my mind.
