This is pretty... disheartening, I guess. Anyway, eventually, I want to record me reading this with background music and have some pictures too.
Forsaken
Forsaken.
That's what I am.
Utterly, completely forsaken.
Not just abandoned, not just ignored. Not just alone, not despised, not rejected. Not lost, left, forgotten, or banished.
Forsaken. In the most extreme sense of the word.

The road was long and empty. It seemed like all life was hiding, avoiding me. The clouds overhead began to darken. The weather was conspiring, the animals were hiding, the very Earth I had loved had forsaken me. Forsaken. Then, there was Hope. She was the only thing that did not forsake me. In the jeering masses, she stood silent. As they mocked and spat on me, she beheld me in those sad eyes. |
But I was forsaken now.
Never to return to the home I had loved. Doomed to walk alone forever. Cursed with loneliness for as long as I live.
Ahead of me, the clouds parted and a ray of sun fell upon a weeping figure in the path. The rain began to fall and the clouds darkened.
I tried to call out, but my voice had left me. It too had forsaken me. I stood away from her, staring at the figure in white robes, now muddied in the rain. It was her. Hope.
Hope was standing in front of me, the lone beam of light now hiding behind the clouds. I started to walk towards her, but my feet tried to stop me. They knew my punishment and were determined to carry it out.
But Hope was there, in front of me. She stood up, her head hung low. She stood, silently crying, her tears intermingling with the rain. She looked up to the clouds.
But right now, she needed me. I couldn't abandon her, not now.
But would she accept my comfort?
I put my hand on her shoulder and she spun around. She showed no emotion towards me. Then, a small smile make its way through her sadness. I put my other hand on her shoulder and smiled back at her.
I felt good to smile, an action I had not done for weeks. Her tears turned to joy at seeing me. I added mine to the mix.
From above, the heavens had mercy and the clouds began to disperse. Slowly, sunlight came back to me.
They had forsaken me. They reviled me, cursed my name, and cast me out. Never again would I be able to see the city I had loved. Never again could I sleep under a closed roof. Never again could I meet another person who would not hate me, threaten me, and then abandon me. I was forsaken.
But as long as I have her, I will never be truly forsaken. I have Hope!
